As the covid-19 pandemic continues to rage across the United States, we have concluded that it is impossible for us to undertake Anesthesia Camp, Grand Cayman in January 2021.

This impossibility is due to social distancing requirements that preclude convening a meeting as we have had for the past 10 years. In addition, the statements of the Cayman Islands government on how they intend to reopen tourism, in a very limited fashion, focusing on property owners and long-term visitors (who will quarantine upon arrival), are incompatible with the customary plans of our meeting attendees who spend only four or five days on the island. Indeed, the islands remain closed to inbound tourism and the reopen dates for international travel have been delayed numerous times with no guarantee of future opening. Under such circumstances, it is impossible to plan a meeting.

We wish all of you and your families safe passage through these difficult times and look forward to seeing you when the pandemic is over and we are safe from covid-19. We also hope you will join us in our online learning activities.
